562 Tenants of the world, unite

I'm long gone from 562 7th Street, but the saga continues. A current tenant has organized his complaints in a slightly more coherent manner, with fewer references to his wardrobe but more damning pictures, at Serious Danger. I wish him the best of luck; he'll need it.

Hi! I'm at 562 now, we just moved in two weeks ago and already the trouble has started... i was keeping my own blog about it and i can't believe how similar your experiences were/are... we wondered why, in the week we moved in, five apartments moved out. Our rent is ridiculously expensive and everything is crumbling in our apartment! She seems harmless enough (Gloria) and I feel awful for her (incredibly smelly) husband Walter, but Somethign really needs to be done here!!!!!!

wow. I was going to go look at an apartment there and leave her a deposit tomorrow. I googled the address and her name, and now that I read this is I am going to call and cancel.

I wondered why she has like 5 units opening up all at the same time . . .

I moved out of 562 7th Street in April 2009- The Bathroom was leaking brown filthy water the day before I left and during the winter time it was brutally cold. Also- She puts a timer on the hot water so during the daytime and past 10pm there is NO HOT WATER!
One Morning I saw a filthy HUGE cockroach on the 2nd floor stairwell because the building is rotting.
My advice is MOVE OUT NOW! I know there are 3 apartments open- Last year was the most stressful living experience i've had. Also- She goes through people's mail which is a federal offense. UGH.

I once lived through these same problems back in 2005. It's amazing the place hasn't burned down. The fridge is plugged into a 2-prong outlet that is connected by an extension cord. One of the outlets was smoking the day we got out of there. When the parents came to visit, there was brownish pink goupy crap coming out of the sink. Caught a mouse that had been living in the 50 yr old stove. Oh the list of shit goes on and on. How much are you people paying these days? I think I was at $1950, but I seem to remember it jumping up
$400/mo when we left. I'd say that this place will get cleaned up when they pass, but I know they have kids, and in my one interaction with them, they were underhanded.
